Coaching

servicesWhat can you expect from a one-on-one coaching session with me?

First, I’ll listen carefully. I want to hear what your feeding goals are for your baby. I also want to hear what is working—and what’s not working—during feedings. It is also important for me to hear from mom’s partner or support person. What do they think is going well, and what can be improved?

Then I’ll ask about your health and birth history, perform an assessment of your baby’s mouth and your breasts, observe a feeding session, and weigh the baby before and after the feeding to see how much milk the baby has taken during the feeding.

Together we will find a feeding strategy and care plan that you’re comfortable with and that’s based on your doctor’s feeding recommendations. Our time together ends when you feel confident and comfortable with breastfeeding and all your questions have been addressed.

I’ll also provide follow-up care as needed, until you’re confident that a healthy breastfeeding relationship is established.

For your convenience, coaching sessions can be held at your home or at my office in Cary.
