FAQ
These “Frequently Asked Questions” will help you get to know me better and will address some of the questions you may have as a new parent. If you have a question that you don’t see answered here, please feel free to contact me directly.
What do you love most about this line of work?
I enjoy watching the journey of the breastfeeding family and the commitment that parents have to give their baby the best start in life. There are special qualities about a breastfeeding family— how they overcome obstacles, how they achieve their goals, how they mature as parents based on their decision to breastfeed in our bottlefeeding culture. They are my heros!
What do new parents need to be reminded of when they encounter breastfeeding challenges?
I like to remind new parents that the best way to avoid feeling like a failure is to ask for help.
How much does a coaching session cost?
My service fee is $100 for an office visit, $125 for a home visit.
Will you be available for follow-up visits or phone calls?
The consultation fee includes all follow up visits, phone calls, and emails until the family and doctors are confident that breastfeeding is going well.
Will my insurance cover your services?
Insurance coverage varies with each plan. Call the benefits office at your health insurance company to ask about the coverage for a lactation visit.
What if my spouse isn’t supportive of my choice to breastfeed?
A determined woman can do anything! However, it will be important for her to find a supportive mothering community that values breastfeeding.
