About your Coach

Having her first baby welcomed Cindi into the world of breastfeeding. When breastfeeding didn't go well with her older daughter, she was fortunate enough to receive help and support. Through that experience, she became passionate about helping other families learn how breastfeeding can make their jobs of parenting easier and more joyful.

Since 1994, she has been involved with this exciting work—first as a La Leche League volunteer (1994 to present), then as volunteer lactation specialist at WakeMed Raleigh hospital (2002-2006), and now as an independent, board-certified Lactation Consultant working from her home office in Cary, North Carolina USA.

In addition to being the owner of Freeman Lactation Services, LLC, Cindi is a proud member of the International Lactation Consultant Association ( ILCA), the Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance, and the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition. She speaks at local and state-wide lactation conferences. She also feels passionate about helping others join the exciting field of lactation support.

Cindi has lived in the Raleigh area since 1987. She and her husband, Joel, have two daughters. She loves cooking and feeding people, especially children, and can be frequently seen at area farmer's markets and walking her toy poodle at Bond Park in Cary.
